NOCECO Coffee-Table Book Details A Legacy of Service

Kabankalan City – The Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NOCECO) launches its first ever Coffee-table Book detailing a monumental work in the field of rural electrification on March 10. It depicts the fulfilment of a dream, the triumph against adversities and the Filipinos' unyielding spirit in the face of challenges. This book particularly aims to provide people especially the succeeding generations a glimpse of the dreary past and what it had taken to illuminate our homes and the places yonder.

The editorial staff was mainly composed of NOCECO employees with the Rural Electrification Advocates of the Philippines, Inc. (REAP) represented by Dr. Adolben Flores and Leonisa Musni as consultants. A professional photographer was hired to take all the photos that would illustrate the stories of the book.

The launching was graced by NOCECO Board of Directors, some retired employees and the consultants. Everyone has their own version of appreciation as it has been the first time a book of this kind was published to telltale the nation's pursuit for a better life through rural electrification.

Meanwhile, a farewell party for the outgoing general manager Engr.Cornelio Somodio, Jr. was also held right after the ceremony.
